1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Use and End User License Agreement (collectively, the “Agreement”), together with all policies and documents referenced herein, form a legally binding agreement between you (“you,” “your,” or “user”) and AppBound Technologies LLC (“AppBound,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a company incorporated in the United States, governing your access to and use of the mobile software application DocBound – AI Scanner & Editor (hereinafter, “DocBound”) and the official AppBound website located at https://appbound.app (collectively referred to as the “Service”).
DocBound scanner is a mobile application designed for iOS devices that enables users to scan, edit, and convert documents for personal and professional use. Additional features, including AI-powered capabilities and cloud-based tools, may be introduced in future versions of the Service.
By accessing, downloading, installing, or using any part of the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by the terms of this Agreement. This Agreement becomes effective immediately upon your first use of the Service. If you do not agree to be bound by these Terms, you must not access or use the Service, and you must uninstall and delete the App from any device under your control.
All related policies, including but not limited to our Privacy Policy, are incorporated into this Agreement by reference and shall govern your use of the Service in conjunction with these Terms.
Please note that AppBound may revise the Service over time. This includes changes to the app name, available features, design elements, functionality, or how the Service is offered. Such changes do not alter the binding nature of this Agreement unless explicitly stated otherwise.
2. Changes And Updates to Terms of Use
We may revise, modify, or update these Terms of Use from time to time in order to reflect changes in our business practices, features of the App, legal requirements, or for any other operational reasons. Any changes we make will be made available through the App or via an official channel associated with DocBound, such as our website or support page.
You are encouraged to review this Agreement periodically to stay informed about any updates or revisions. Continued use of the App after changes have been published constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree with the modified terms, you are expected to discontinue your use of the App and uninstall it from your device.
Please note that we are not obligated to notify you individually each time a change is made. Your responsibility as a user includes remaining aware of the current version of the Agreement at all times.
3. Eligibility And Basic Use Restrictions
Access to and use of DocBound is subject to specific eligibility requirements. By downloading, installing, or using the app, you represent and warrant that you meet all of the conditions outlined below.
You must be at least thirteen (13) years old to use the app. If you are under the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction (typically under 18 years old), you may only use the app with the explicit consent of a parent or legal guardian. Such use must also occur under their direct supervision. By granting this permission, the parent or guardian agrees to accept full responsibility for the minor’s use of the app and their compliance with these Terms of Use.
Children under the age of thirteen (13) are strictly prohibited from using the app. We do not knowingly provide services to users below this age, nor do we collect their personal data. If we become aware of a violation of this rule, we reserve the right to restrict access and take appropriate measures, including deleting any associated data if applicable.
You further confirm that you are not barred from using the app under any relevant laws, such as those related to export controls, sanctions, or regional access restrictions.
This app is intended solely for personal, non-commercial use. Any commercial, institutional, or organizational usage—without prior written approval from AppBound Technologies LLC—is not permitted. Additionally, usage that violates local, national, or international laws or regulations is strictly forbidden. If you do not meet these requirements, you must immediately cease using the app and remove it from your device. We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to the app—without prior notice—for any user who fails to meet these eligibility requirements or who violates these Terms of Use.
4. User Rights And Content Ownership
You retain full ownership of all content you create, upload, scan, edit, or convert using DocBound. This includes, but is not limited to, scanned documents, modified files, text annotations, and format-converted versions of those files. DocBound does not claim any ownership rights over your content.
In the current version of the app, all content processing and storage occur locally on your device. DocBound does not upload, store, or transmit your files to our servers or to any third-party storage system as part of its core functionality. This local-first design ensures that your documents remain private and under your control unless you choose to share them externally using your device’s own sharing tools.
While we currently do not access or host your files, DocBound uses third-party services like Google Analytics and Google AdMob to analyze app performance and serve advertisements. These services may collect limited, non-personal usage data in accordance with their own privacy practices. However, they do not have access to the documents you scan or edit within the app.
You are solely responsible for the content you choose to scan, modify, or store using the app. You must ensure that your use of the app complies with all applicable laws and regulations, including those related to intellectual property, privacy, and the handling of sensitive or restricted materials. AppBound Technologies LLC disclaims all responsibility for any violations or misuse of the app by users.
In future versions, we may introduce optional cloud-based features or AI-powered services (e.g., document summarization or chatbot functionality).These future capabilities may also be accessible through the official AppBound website (https://appbound.app), where applicable. If web-based content handling or processing becomes available, the same rights and privacy commitments stated in this section shall apply to both the DocBound app and the AppBound website. These features may involve uploading documents to secure third-party servers or APIs for processing. If such features are introduced, we will provide clear, prior notice and obtain appropriate consent before enabling cloud processing or data transmission.
5. Prohibited Conduct and Technical Restrictions
To protect the security, stability, and fair usage of the DocBound mobile application and the official AppBound website (collectively, the “Service”), users must adhere strictly to the rules outlined in this section. Any activity that interferes with the normal functioning of the app, compromises its security, violates legal standards, or misuses its features will be considered a violation of these Terms of Use. You must not upload, distribute, or interact with files through the app that contain malicious content. This includes documents containing viruses, trojans, worms, corrupted files, or other harmful software designed to damage or exploit system integrity—either yours or others’. - Use the App to provide document services to others on a commercial basis (e.g., offering scanning/editing as a paid service);

All rights, title, and interest in and to the App are and shall remain the exclusive property of AppBound Technologies LLC, except for certain third-party components (e.g., fonts, icons, libraries) that are used under license or open-source terms. Use of such third-party elements within the App does not imply ownership by AppBound and does not transfer any rights beyond what their respective licenses allow.
By using the App, you acknowledge and agree that:
- You are not acquiring any ownership rights or intellectual property interests in the App or its content;

- No part of these Terms or your use of the App grants you any implied license or right to use AppBound’s trademarks, logos, copyrights, or other protected assets without prior written authorization.
All logos, product names, graphics, and trademarks associated with DocBound or AppBound Technologies LLC are the exclusive property of the company. They may not be used, copied, or imitated, in whole or in part, without express prior consent. This includes but is not limited to use in promotional materials, domain names, app names, or derivative branding.
The App may incorporate third-party software libraries, SDKs, or services that are provided under separate open-source or commercial licenses. Your use of such components is governed solely by their respective license terms, and nothing in these Terms shall be interpreted to override or amend such third-party licensing conditions. AppBound Technologies LLC reserves all rights not expressly granted to you under these Terms. Any unauthorized use of the App’s intellectual property may result in legal action, termination of your access to the App, and liability for damages.
9. User Content and Third-Party Content Rights
User Content
You may create, scan, upload, edit, or manage content through the DocBound mobile application or the AppBound website (collectively, the “Service”). All such materials are considered “User Content” under this Agreement. This includes documents, images, annotations, and any other data generated through your use of the App’s features.
As between you and AppBound Technologies LLC, you retain full ownership and all intellectual property rights in your User Content. The Service does not currently upload, store, or transmit your content to our servers by default; all files and edits are stored locally on your device unless explicitly shared by you through external means.
In future versions of the App, optional features such as AI summarization or chatbot functionality may involve temporary processing of your content on third-party or AppBound-operated servers. If such processing is enabled by you, we reserve the right to retain content temporarily only as necessary to operate, troubleshoot, or improve the performance of the requested features, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
You are solely responsible for ensuring that your User Content complies with applicable laws and does not infringe on the rights of any third party. AppBound Technologies LLC assumes no liability for the legality, accuracy, or ethical use of your content.
If, in the future, any User Content is uploaded to or processed through our servers—whether via the App or the AppBound website, you will have the right to request deletion of such content at any time by contacting us through the support options provided in the App. Upon receiving a valid request, we will take reasonable steps to delete the content from our systems in accordance with our data retention and privacy policies.
Third-Party Content and Advertising
The App may display advertising or content provided by third-party ad networks such as Google AdMob. These advertisements are not controlled, created, or reviewed by AppBound Technologies LLC. We make no warranties or representations regarding the accuracy, reliability, or safety of any third-party content or advertisements shown within the App.
If you choose to interact with third-party ads or follow links to external websites or services, you do so at your own risk. We are not responsible for any transactions, data collection, or interactions that occur on third-party platforms. Your use of such services will be governed by their respective terms and privacy policies.
10. Termination and Suspension of Access
AppBound Technologies LLC reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App, in whole or in part, at any time and without prior notice, if we determine, at our sole discretion, that you have:
- Violated any provision of these Terms of Use;
- Misused or attempted to misuse the App’s features, services, or underlying systems;
- Breached applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights in connection with your use of the App; or
- Engaged in conduct that, in our judgment, may cause harm, disrupt system integrity, or expose AppBound or its users to legal or security risks.
In the event of such suspension or termination:
- Your license to use the App will be automatically revoked;
- You must immediately cease all use of the App and remove it from your devices;
- We may, if applicable in future versions, deactivate any associated user account, block device access, or restrict usage of cloud-based features or content;
- Any User Content stored on our servers, if applicable at the time of termination, may be retained, archived, or deleted in accordance with our data retention policies and Privacy Policy.
We may, at our sole discretion, consider requests to reinstate suspended access or accounts, but are under no obligation to do so. Such decisions will depend on the nature of the violation, user conduct, and overall risk assessment.
You acknowledge that uninstalling or ceasing to use the App does not relieve you of your obligations under these Terms, including any liabilities you may have incurred prior to termination.
We may also suspend or discontinue access to the App for operational, technical, legal, or commercial reasons, including service deprecation, system upgrades, regulatory changes, or security threats. In such cases, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you, but are not obligated to do so.
You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. However, no refunds, credits, or compensation will be issued for unused subscription time, removed content, or interrupted access resulting from termination or suspension, except as required by applicable law or App Store policies. AppBound Technologies LLC shall not be liable for any damages, loss of data, loss of functionality, or other consequences arising from the suspension or termination of your access to the App, whether initiated by us or by you.
11. Disclaimers
The App is provided to you on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted under applicable law, AppBound Technologies LLC disclaims all warranties, representations, guarantees, and conditions, including but not limited to:
- Any warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, reliability, completeness, title, or non-infringement;
- Any warranties that the App will meet your expectations or requirements;
- Any warranties that the App will be free of interruptions, errors, security issues, or defects;
- Any warranties regarding the availability, timeliness, or continued offering of specific features or services.
You acknowledge that the use of the App is at your sole risk, and that you are solely responsible for ensuring the appropriateness, accuracy, and reliability of any content, data, or results produced or stored through your use of the App. While we aim to maintain a high-quality, functional product, we do not guarantee that all features will work without bugs, interruptions, or delays, especially during updates, feature rollouts, or third-party service outages.
We do not warrant 100% quality, precision, or accuracy of scans, text extraction, measurements, or calculations performed using the App. Variations may occur due to document condition, lighting, image quality, device hardware, or the behavior of any third-party technology used. You are advised to review and verify any processed or extracted content before using it in any formal, professional, or legal context.
The App is intended for general document scanning, editing, conversion, and organization. It does not provide legal, medical, financial, or professional advice, and any content, feature, or result generated through the App (e.g., a scanned contract or document edit) is for informational and utility purposes only. You should not rely on the App for decisions that require professional or regulated oversight. Any use of the App for submitting documents to official entities, courts, employers, or regulatory bodies is at your own discretion and risk.
We do not warrant the accuracy or reliability of third-party components, fonts, icons, or templates that may be included in the App. In addition, we do not control, endorse, or take responsibility for any third-party content, advertisements, or materials shown within the App via platforms like Google AdMob or future integrations. AppBound Technologies LLC assumes no liability for the safety, accuracy, or legitimacy of such third-party content, and makes no representation about the products or services advertised therein.
We may, at our sole discretion and without prior notice, modify, suspend, remove, or discontinue any portion of the App, including its features or functionality. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the App, and make no commitment regarding its availability over time, platform compatibility, or long-term maintenance.
By using the App, you agree that your sole remedy for any dissatisfaction or problem with the App is to discontinue use and delete it from your device. No advice or information, whether oral or written, obtained from AppBound Technologies LLC or through the App, shall create any warranty unless expressly stated in writing.
These disclaimers form an essential basis of the agreement between you and AppBound Technologies LLC.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, AppBound Technologies LLC and its officers, directors, employees, affiliates, licensors, service providers, agents, and contractors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages arising out of or in connection with your access to or use of the DocBound mobile application or the AppBound website (https://appbound.app) (collectively, the “Service”). This includes, but is not limited to:
- Loss of profits, revenue, or anticipated savings;
- Loss of data or content (whether stored locally or processed in future cloud features);
- Loss of business opportunities or goodwill;
- Personal injury, property damage, or business interruption;
- Errors in scanning, document conversion, measurements, text extraction, formatting, or any output generated by the App;
- Inaccurate information, misrepresentation, or corrupted files resulting from use of the App;
- Inaccessibility or unavailability of the App, including downtime or service interruptions;
- Any issues or harm caused by third-party advertisements, content, APIs, or links accessed through the App;
- Any unauthorized access to or alteration of your transmissions, content, or data.
These limitations apply regardless of the theory of liability (e.g., contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, warranty, or otherwise) and even if AppBound Technologies LLC has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
You understand and agree that the App is provided to you as a utility tool, and that you are solely responsible for evaluating the appropriateness, accuracy, and legality of your use. You acknowledge that you use the App at your own risk and discretion.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you. You may also have other rights that vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. In particular, some jurisdictions (including certain U.S. states, the European Union, and the United Kingdom) provide mandatory consumer protections that cannot be waived by contract. Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or override any rights you may have under local law.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, if any liability is imposed on AppBound Technologies LLC, such liability shall not exceed the total amount you paid, if any, for use of the App in the six (6) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. In jurisdictions that do not allow such limitations, liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
These limitations of liability reflect a reasonable and mutually agreed-upon allocation of risk and are a fundamental part of the agreement between you and AppBound Technologies LLC.
13. Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless AppBound Technologies LLC, its officers, directors, employees, agents, affiliates, licensors, service providers, contractors, and any of their respective successors and assigns (collectively, the “Indemnified Parties”) from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, demands, actions, judgments, penalties, fines, or expenses (including, without limitation, those arising from the cost of investigation and legal proceedings) that result from or relate to:
- Your access to or use of the DocBound mobile application or the AppBound website (https://appbound.app);
- Your violation of these Terms of Use or any applicable law or regulation;
- Any content or materials you create, scan, upload, modify, store, share, or otherwise process using the App;
- Your violation of the rights of any third party, including but not limited to intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or confidentiality obligations.
This indemnification obligation applies regardless of whether the claim arises from your direct actions, your use of the App, or any content submitted through your account or device, and regardless of whether such use was authorized by you or not.
AppBound Technologies LLC reserves the right, at its sole discretion and at your expense, to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter that is subject to indemnification by you. You agree to fully cooperate with any such defense and not to settle or resolve any claim or matter involving the Indemnified Parties without our prior written consent.
We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of any such claim, demand, or legal action for which we seek indemnification, but failure to do so shall not relieve you of your obligations under this section unless it materially impairs your ability to defend the claim.
Your obligations under this indemnity clause shall survive the termination of your use of the App and remain in effect even after these Terms of Use have expired or been terminated.
14. Legal Compliance
You agree to use the DocBound mobile application and the AppBound website (https://appbound.app) in strict compliance with all applicable local, national, and international laws, statutes, regulations, rules, and legal obligations that may apply to your use of mobile applications, digital scanning, document processing, and data handling technologies. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of the Service is lawful in your jurisdiction, and you assume full liability for any violation of such laws.
You are also responsible for verifying whether the scanning, processing, or digital reproduction of specific types of documents—such as government-issued IDs, tax forms, legal contracts, or medical records—is legally permitted in your country or region. The Service does not verify the legal validity of such content and should not be relied upon to determine compliance.
The Service may not be used for any unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, infringing, or unauthorized purposes. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Scanning or processing documents that you are not legally authorized to access, store, or reproduce;
- Uploading, editing, or sharing content that is defamatory, obscene, harassing, invasive of privacy, incites violence or hatred, or violates the rights of others;
- Using the Service to falsify, forge, or misrepresent personal, financial, medical, or legal documents;
- Circumventing any laws regarding digital records, electronic signatures, or official document submission processes;
- Violating intellectual property rights by scanning or modifying copyrighted works, proprietary templates, or brand materials without permission.
You may not use, export, re-export, or transfer the Service in violation of any applicable export control laws, trade restrictions, embargoes, or sanctions, including but not limited to those administered by the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, or any other relevant authority. Specifically, you represent and warrant that:
- You are not located in or ordinarily resident of any country or region that is subject to comprehensive U.S. government embargoes or sanctions (e.g., North Korea, Iran, Cuba, Syria, or the Crimea region of Ukraine);
- You are not listed on any U.S. or international government list of prohibited, restricted, or sanctioned individuals or entities, including but not limited to the U.S. Treasury Department’s Specially Designated Nationals List (SDN List) or the EU Consolidated List of Sanctions.
You further agree not to provide access to the Service to any person or entity listed above or located in a prohibited jurisdiction, whether directly or indirectly, through reselling, lending, or sharing.
If your use of the Service becomes subject to any investigation, court order, or legal process relating to misuse or violations of applicable laws, you acknowledge that AppBound Technologies LLC reserves the right to cooperate with law enforcement and regulatory authorities and to provide information or content related to your use of the Service, to the extent legally permitted.
Violation of this section may result in the immediate suspension or termination of your access to the Service, without notice, and may subject you to legal liability under the laws of your jurisdiction or international law.
15. Governing Law, Jurisdiction, and Arbitration
These Terms of Use, including all matters relating to your access to or use of the DocBound mobile application and the AppBound official website (collectively, the “Service”), and any dispute or claim arising out of or relating to them—whether based in contract, tort, statute, fraud, or any other legal theory—shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
Binding Arbitration Agreement
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you and AppBound Technologies LLC agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved exclusively through final and binding arbitration, rather than in court, except as specifically provided below.
This includes, without limitation, disputes relating to the interpretation, enforceability, scope, or application of this arbitration clause itself. The arbitration shall be administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) in accordance with its Consumer Arbitration Rules, as modified by this Agreement.
Arbitration proceedings shall be conducted in English, and the seat of arbitration shall be Delaware, USA, unless otherwise mutually agreed.
Pre-Arbitration Notice Requirement
Before either party initiates arbitration, the party must first send the other party a written notice of intent to arbitrate (“Notice”). The Notice must include:
(i) the nature and basis of the claim or dispute; and
(ii) the specific relief sought.
Notices to AppBound must be sent via email to support@appbound.app or by international courier to the official business address provided on the website. If the dispute is not resolved within 30 days of receipt of the Notice, either party may initiate arbitration.
Confidentiality of Proceedings
All arbitration proceedings, including documents, filings, arguments, and awards, shall remain strictly confidential and closed to the public. Neither party shall disclose the existence, content, or results of any arbitration except as required by law or to enforce an arbitration award in court.
Class Action Waiver
You agree to resolve any disputes with AppBound Technologies LLC only on an individual basis. You may not bring any claim as a plaintiff or class member in a class, collective, consolidated, or representative action.
The arbitrator may not:
- Consolidate the claims of multiple individuals, or
- Otherwise preside over any form of a class, representative, or group proceeding.
If a court or arbitrator determines that the class action waiver in this paragraph is unenforceable, then the entire arbitration agreement shall be null and void.
Waiver of Jury Trial
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you and AppBound Technologies LLC waive the right to a trial by jury in any legal proceeding relating to these Terms or the Service.
Exceptions to Arbitration
Nothing in this section prevents either party from:
- Filing an individual claim in small claims court if eligible;
- Seeking injunctive or equitable relief in a court of law to protect intellectual property or confidential information;
- Enforcing an arbitration award in any court with proper jurisdiction.
Filing Deadline
Any claim or arbitration demand must be filed within one (1) year from the date the claim arises. If not, the claim is permanently barred. This one-year period includes the required 30-day pre-arbitration notice period.
Opt-Out Right
You may opt out of this arbitration provision within thirty (30) days of first using the Service by sending a written, signed notice to support@appbound.app . The notice must clearly indicate your intent to opt out and provide information sufficient for us to identify your usage history. If more than 30 days have passed, you are legally bound to arbitrate any disputes under this section.
Severability and Enforcement
If any part of this Section is found to be invalid or unenforceable under applicable law, that part shall be reformed or severed, and the remainder shall remain in full force and effect.
This section is intended to be interpreted broadly and enforced to the fullest extent allowed by law.
16. Modifications to the Terms
AppBound Technologies LLC reserves the right to modify, update, or replace these Terms of Use at any time, in whole or in part, at our sole discretion. We may make such changes for legal, regulatory, technical, or operational reasons, or to reflect new features or business practices related to the DocBound mobile application and the AppBound website (https://appbound.app).
Whenever we make material changes to these Terms, the updated version will be posted on the official website and may be made accessible within the App in a future update. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page will reflect the date on which the current version takes effect. You are encouraged to review these Terms periodically to stay informed of any updates.
By continuing to access or use the App or website after any changes to the Terms are posted, you acknowledge and agree to be legally bound by the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must discontinue your use of the Service and uninstall the App from your device. We are not obligated to provide individual notice (such as push notifications, email, or in-app alerts) about changes to the Terms, unless required by applicable law. Your sole responsibility is to check the official website or this page for the most current version.
17. Entire Agreement
These Terms of Use, together with our Privacy Policy and any other referenced legal documents or supplemental terms—including but not limited to a future Cookies Policy, AI Usage Policy, subscription terms, or data security notices—constitute the entire agreement between you and AppBound Technologies LLC regarding your access to and use of the DocBound mobile application and the official AppBound website (https://appbound.app) (collectively, the “Service”).
This agreement supersedes and replaces all prior or contemporaneous agreements, communications, and understandings—whether written, oral, implied, or otherwise—between you and AppBound Technologies LLC concerning the subject matter covered by these Terms.
No employee, representative, affiliate, or agent of AppBound Technologies LLC is authorized to modify or waive these Terms in any verbal or informal capacity. Any changes or exceptions must be provided in writing and explicitly approved by AppBound Technologies LLC.
You agree that your continued use of the Service constitutes your understanding and acceptance of the current version of these Terms, including any documents or policies incorporated by reference. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be deemed severable from the rest of the Terms and shall not affect the validity or enforceability of the remaining provisions, which shall remain in full force and effect.
